Kaws “Where The End Starts” Show To Launch Late October

Art & Culture

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Texas is set to host a major survey exhibition of Brooklyn-based artist KAWS featuring key paintings, sculptures, drawings, toys and street art interventions to explore the artist’s career in depth and reveal critical aspects of his formal, conceptual and collaborative developments in a career spanning over 20 years. The exhibition will run for 3 months before travelling on to the Yuz Museum, Shanghai in March, with a comprehensive supporting publication spanning the artist’s body of work already available to pre-order.

KAWS’ body of work spans the worlds of grafiti, pop art and consumer culture. Pimarily looking to and appropriating from pop-culture the artist is well known for his larger-than-life sculptures and hard-edge paintings that emphasise line and colour, with his cast of hybrid cartoon/human characters bearing semblance to popular figures such as Mickey Mouse and the Michelin Man perhaps the strongest examples of his exploration of humanity.

KAWS: WHERE THE END STARTS runs 20th October 2016 through 22nd January 2017 at the Modern Art Museum of Forth Worth, Texas.
