Don’t Be Afraid and Hyponik have joined forces to raise money for housing and homelessness charity Shelter this Christmas through a new dedicated fundraising event called The Big Wheel.

It is difficult to imagine celebrating the Christmas holiday in 2011 without acknowledging the hardship that difficult economic conditions have imposed. When times are good there is no better place than London to enjoy the high spirits and euphoria of the holidays, and for many that will not change this year. However, every two minutes someone in this country faces the nightmare of losing their home. An estimated 35,000 people across the country face the prospect of losing their homes between now and Christmas.

Shelter support people who are homeless or in desperate housing need. Don’t Be Afraid and Hyponik have assembled a stellar line-up of DJs to help the fundraising effort. A range of London’s best selectors, plus two utterly vital special guests, will play short 45 minute sets across the two floors of the Horse & Groom. 100% of all donations will go to Shelter, all DJs and performers are appearing for free, and all publicity, marketing and production expenses are being paid for by sponsorship from the two hosts.
