Stream Revolutions In Sound this Thursday

Art & Culture

This week will see Red Bull Revolutions in Sound finally take to the skies on Thursday 14th November, with a UK Club takeover of the London Eye. 30 capsules gigs will bear witness to performances, whilst in rotation, from the likes of Lily Allen, Richie Hawtin, Katy B, Rudimental (DJ set), Sasha, Mike Pickering, Skream and Boy Better Know to name but a few. The final line-up, a roll call for clublands legends and luminaries, includes over 100 DJs and MCs, eleven dancers, five singers and two conga drummers (see Notes to Editors for line-up in full).

A world first in live streaming, all 30 capsules will be broadcast simultaneously on the web (on Channel4.com in the UK, and globally via Red Bull Musics YouTube channel). The individual streams provide a snapshot of some of the most influential club nights that, together, have shaped the nations musically rich club culture over the past four decades.
Bringing their unique sounds and musical pedigree to the already formidable talent list, Bristol house savant Julio Bashmore steps in to represent the Warehouse Project capsule, whilst Numbers man Jackmaster, juke-dubstep trailblazer Girl Unit and seminal Streatham producer Oneman join Boiler Rooms, alongside Night Slugs Bok Bok and Lil Silva, and Swamp81 crews MC Chunky. Heading up the Metro capsule, London indie imprint Young Turks presents Friends & Family including Mercury-winning Jamie XX, Red Bull Music Academy participant Koreless plus a live set by Pional. Elsewhere, sleazy-disco swilling duo Bicep and Cologne-based Ava Records founder Damiano von Erckert join Corsica Studios unit, while the Sidewinder capsule welcomes grime honcho DJ Slimzee, Blive and Viper. The Hydra touts Ibiza terrace mainstay Paul Woolford vs Special Request whilst CJ Beatz and Majestic join Channel 4 House Party. At ground-level on the South Bank, party-starting duo The 2 Bears and Queen of jacking Heidi weigh in for the 2000-capacity silent disco, joining previously announced Felix Da Housecat and Ashley Beedle.

AFTER-PARTIES
A spread of after-parties will ensure that the nocturnal activities continue long after the capsules stop turning to accommodate the dancing feet of those involved and watching the streams online. Sub Club joins forces with Corsica Studios, bringing some Glaswegian flavour to the capital in their hosts intimate South London digs. Bringing North and South together for one post-revolution throwdown, full line-up to include Derrick Carter, Damiano von Erckert, Harri & Domenic, Park Ranger, Hesseltime and Mr Solid Gold. Next up, Horse Meat Disco bring their infamous disco ball rumpus to Vauxhall, as Eagle London invites them to bring their Thames-side festivities back home.
