Southbank Centre Unveils September Gig Listings

London's Southbank Centre seems like the place to be next month as there's all sorts of entertainment to get your eyes and ears around – ranging from jazz to podcasting with snippet of techno and the like thrown in between.
The centre will be home to Sufjan Stevens' first London shows in four years on 2nd and 3rd September as he returns to show off his new album Carrie & Lowell. It will also host the likes of Afrobeat legend Tony Allen on 13th September who'll be joined live by Toumani and Sidiki Diabaté, BBC 6Music's Tom Robinson unveiling new songs from his first new album in 20 years on 18th September and US podcaster Marc Maron (who met Barack Obama don't ya know?) bringing his show to the UK on 3rd and 4th September.
For those of you that don't like spending very much there are a couple of freebies worth getting down to – Electric Jalaba will be combining techno, funk and rock with desert blues on 11th September as part of 'Africa Utopia' while jazz pianist Mark Pringle presents A Moveable Feast for those of you that are feeling jazzy on 25th September.
Why not tread south of the river next month? You might just enjoy it…
