RSS Triathlon

Art & Culture

Apparently we are celebrating a great year for Britain, so we decided to jump on the bandwagon and throw a whole weekend of parties in honour of the Olympics… Over the course of 3 days and nights we will bring you a line up of herculean proportions. This is without doubt the biggest line up yet to be seen playing on the Recession Sound System at our favourite hangout DreamBagsJaguarShoes and will be a rare opportunity to catch such established and well respected dj’s in such an intimate setting. Best of all, the whole thing is FREE…

This is the RSS Triathlon – Faster, Higher, Stronger…

Recession Sound System is the name of both our custom built sound system and the series of parties that we have been throwing over the past year. It began life at the beginning of 2012 and has been growing in size and stature ever since. We have had some of the finest underground dj’s come down to our parties fulfilling our anything-goes principles, expect soul, funk, boogie, house, disco techno and more…

Friday Night see’s us bring you two of the finest producers Scotland has conceived in the last decade. Fudge Fingas and Lord Of The Isles. reprising the Firecracker and Prime Numbers labels, Fudge Fingas is a proven all-rounder, mixing classic house and contemporary jazz. Lord Of The Isles is the new talent that was this years pick for the Unthank series alongside Vakula and Bakey Intl… With a ton of releases in the past year on some of the most interesting house labels out there including Ene and American Standard… LOTI is taking the Gold Medal for best newcomer! To warm you all up we are welcoming back Zleep founder and our good friend Chamboche, after his award winning set last time we couldn't resist seeing him display his stamina behind the decks again.

On the Saturday, we start at 5pm with Cambridge native and NYC legend, Mr Thomas Bullock, he is a legend for going the distance and keeping the pace right till the bitter end, with his ‘anything-goes’ NY institute Rub N' Tug with Eric Duncan ‘Dr Dunk’ and his incredible partnership with DJ Harvey as Maps Of Africa, this is a unique chance to catch a living legend in an incredibility intimate setting. Championed by Beats in Space founder Tim Sweeney to ESP institute head hounche Lovefingers, and coming up to the 10 year anniversary of their own label, Soft Rocks will be gracing the podium to spread their unique take on disco edits. We also have a very moody opening set from Special Guest that will be announced on the night… Saturday is going to be a tripped out race to the finish.

On the Sunday, we have the last leg of our journey, this is no sprint to the finish, we have an all-star DJ squad coming to bring that sun out and celebrate the pride of Britain, we are all winners! Edits, Cocktails and Moonshine for all who take part!
