Revolutionary Literature Meets Vintage Afrobeat

Tonight, English PEN take over Bethnal Green's Rich Mix venue for a night of poetry and music, celebrating the links between literature and activism . The evening will highlight PEN’s campaign for the release of imprisoned Cameroonian poet Enoh Meyomese and celebrate the publication ‘Jail Verse: Poems from Kondengui Prison’, a collection of his poems translated into English. performers on the night include James Byrne, Sophie Mayer, Laila Sumpton, Aoife Mannix and Sonority Turner. Ransom Note's very own Ian McQuaid will be closing the evening with a set of revolutionary 70s afrobeat. Good cause + good music = result.
