Memory Box Goes Monthly
Memory Box has become known for their championing of dance music history, including a couple of recent shows entirely given over to music made by Roland's 808 and 909 respectively. Now the promoters are going monthly, with a new residency at Brick Lane's Cafe 1001. Running on the last Saturday of every month, starting from February 28th, the night will run from 6pm til midnight (neatly allowing aging ravers – ahem- to get the tube back in time to relieve the babysitter…).
They've got a few specials planned already, with a tasty looking history of acid house from DJ Pierre (who's got as good a claim as anyone to have invented the genre) taking place on July 25th. From April onwards, the event will also feature a downstairs 'Balaeric Bar', so punters can enjoy (/ pray for) some sunny spring time vibes. More info available on the Memory Box facebook, in the meantime you can enjoy Tom Middleton's History of the 808 set below –
