Fritz Lang’s ‘Metropolis’ To Get Brand-New Live Score

Art & Culture

On April 28th next year, the Science Museum will host the premiere performance of a new live score for the sci-fi classic 'Metropolis'. Electronic duo Factory Floor have been especially commissioned by the Museum to celebrate the 'Robots' exhibition which opens on February 8th. They will be performing the soundtrack live alongside the film.

Perhaps the most talked about work in cinematic science fiction, 'Metropolis' features one of the very first screen depictions of a robot, telling the dystopian tale of a city in which the workers are plotting a revolt.

Nik Void and Gabriel Gurnsey are Factory Floor. Their intense postindustrial electronic sound is as much at home at raves as it is in art galleries, cinemas and nightclubs. They’ve collaborated with members of New Order, Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle, and their latest album, 25 25, was released in the summer of 2016 through James Murphy’s influential DFA Records. You can get a taste of it below.
