Peaches Geldof has been found dead at her house in Kent, aged 25. As yet no known reason for her death has been given. The BBC News website has reported that –

“Police were called at 13:35 BST on 7 April to an address near Wrotham following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman.A woman aged 25 was pronounced dead by South East Coast Ambulance Service.Officers are working to establish the circumstances around the death. The death is currently being treated as “unexplained and sudden”.”

Geldof’s father, Sir Bob Geldof, has released a short statement to press.

“We are beyond pain…She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is.”

Peaches leaves behind two daughters, and husband Thomas Cohen, former front man of the band S.C.U.M.

“My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra,” Cohen told press, “and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts every day. We shall love her forever.”

A divisive figure in life, Peaches carved out a career as a media commentator and writer, with both her opinions and her lifestyle regularly exposing her to tabloid attention. She had spoken many times of her difficulty in getting over the death by overdose of her mother, Paula Yates. Geldof’s last tweet, on Sunday, was a picture of herself and her mother, simply reading ‘me and mum’.
