Anton Kubikov Releases His First Solo Lp On Kompakt
Anton Kubikov from SCSI-9 marks his first solo LP on Kompakt titled WHATNESS due out on 14th July. The 12-track player is a swirling mixture of opposing sounds and textures that tease and enchant in equal measure.
Beginning with the unsettling ‘Liquid Mirror’, Anton supplies comfort immediately with ‘Mintnight’, this interchange of mood and texture carrying the album forward.
As a solo artist Anton is well known for his dub-infused techno sounds, the pinnacle of which coming on his own Pro-tez Records last summer titled the Corda EP. But here, he revisits his pedigree in the ambient sub-genre, something he’s honed as a regular contributor to Kompakt’s Pop Ambient compilation series.
