Aera Announces New Ep On Hivern Discs

Berlin based producer Ralph Schmidt, otherwise known as Aera, has announced that he will release an EP on John Talabot’s Hivern Discs in January.

Aera’s previous releases on Innervisions, Maeve and his own Aleph label have been rich examples of deep, streamlined house. His 12” debut on Hivern Discs is set to be another welcome addition to that oeuvre judging from the quality of its first track ‘Bibimpap’. Subtle atmospherics sizzle beneath its sharp backbeat before a gritty, slightly acidic bassline comes the fore. Glitching melodies bounce in and out of the mix throughout its six-minute runtime, the steady pulse never quite letting up.

Released on January 13^th, HVN038 will be the first release on the Barcelona based label of 2017. The four track EP will sit among releases on the imprint from the likes of Cleveland, Barnt, Marvin & Guy, Red Axes and Pional to name but a few.
