R$N Presents: The Noonday Underground Mix With Paradise Forum

Music

The Noonday Underground is a brand new project founded by General Public. Over the coming months Ransom Note is delighted to be able to bring you a series of exclusive mixes recorded from the Thursday afternoon parties which take place at Grow in Hackney. The concept is simple…

"Every Thursday at Grow, Hackney we celebrate music, art, conversation and community and this week Grow is teaming up with General Public, Ransom Note, and The Gaia Gallery to bring you The Noonday Underground.

The Noonday Underground is an early evening music and community social where DJ's play for 1 hour (ish) slots. The session will be recorded and released throughout the month on a weekly basis on Ransom Note."

Next up is Paradise Forum…

Who are you?

Paradise Forum are 4 guys who went to school together in Birmingham and now run Sugarhouse Records out of Sugarhouse Studios in East London. We are Maurice Jnr, Roy Rozell, Seb Miguel and Jamie Paul. Jamie and Roy did this mix.

What record never leaves your bag?

(Jamie) Todd Edwards – Saved My Life
(Roy) Dave Samuels – Living Colours
(Maurice) ?
(Seb) Harry Whitaker – Black Renaissance

Favourite venue?

Théâtre de la Mer, Sète, France – Worldwide Festival has become an annual pilgrimage for us and we've had some memorable nights there, to say the least.

Death row meal?

Roy Rozell's secret recipe lamb ribs – many of our finest plans have been hatched over it down the years.

Best fact?

One of us is a neurosurgeon in his spare time.

When can we expect another release from you guys?

The second release on our label, Sugarhouse, is out this week. It's the first EP-proper by us as Paradise Forum after we released our track "Last Night" on our Bouncin sub-label. The Bouncin001 repress will be here in October and the next Bouncin release is nearly finished.

Where can we find you?
