8 Tracks Of Bad Passion

Music

Bonnie and Clyde aka Chris Stoker and Andy Bainbridge aka Bad Passion have been bickering behind the decks for 6 years now. 6 years of disorganised chaos, 6 years worth of arguing over who’s drink is who’s and 6 years of great music.

Ahead of their 6th birthday – you'll notice how many times we've used 6 in this intro – they've picked us 8, yes 8 tracks of Bad Passion. You see what we haven't done there.

You are also cordially invited to join him and the stunt man's apprentice to celebrate the Bad Passion 6th Birthday this weekend.

Dj Buck - Release The Tension A2

I love all of Buck’s stuff but this always ends up being the one I play at Bad Passion. It always does the damage just as the dancefloor is starting to fill up, quite un-assuming until the breakdown where it smashes back in with those tom’s. The place always kicks off!!
We had him accross to play for us at a Mulletover party a few years ago and he was great. Somehow I ended up jumping round in front of him semi-naked with my wife’s stockings over my head but that’s another story.

  • Warren Zevon - Night Time In The Switching Yard

I happen upon copies of this all the time in 2nd shops and pound bins and would urge anyone to pick it up. This track hooked me instandtly and set me off looking for more of his stuff. It’s one of the tracks that been with a staple from when we 1st started playing records together and I never tire of it. I defy anyone not to at the very least tap there foot to it whether they want to or not. I find it really infectious.

  • Martin Buttrich - Stoned Autopilot (C2 Version)

The ultimate get out of jail free card. A big gun if ever there were one. Goose bumps every time when the chord changes come in and it always goes off with the beats that follow.

  • Zz Top - Ko Ko Blue

I love ZZ Top. They’ve always been around me. My first musical memory was my dad banging out the Deguello album at home and me being fascinated with the cover and I vividly remember the Eliminator videos being shown on the tube. It always seems fitting to play them at the party. They’ve done some outstanding tracks especially in their years. This is from their second album and always kills it at the party. High octane Rock’n’Roll!!

  • Roberta Flack ( And Steve Hurley) - Uh Uh Ooh Ooh Look Out (Here It Comes) (Hurley's House Mix)

This is an all time favourite. I remember Rocky played it at The Empire in Middlesborough on one of my first nights out at a ‘proper club’, and thought I’d never find out what it was. As luck would have it, I ended up stood next to him in the toilets later that night, asked him what it was and it has never left my bag ever since. Her vocal is amazing. Gets me every time.

  • Queen - The Invisible Man (Official Video)

Doesn’t sound too good on paper does it, “Yeah come to Bad Passion, they play loads of Queen and ZZ top” but this is an absolute cracker. That Bassline is killer and kinda sums up our philosophy that anything goes as long as it’s good.

  • C Cat Trance - Shake The Mind

Another firm staple from the box that I never tire of. We used this track to open up our beats in space mix. So good that we named another night after it. Lyrics are amazing.

  • Dsr - Babaloo

From the Miami EP on Warp. Every track is amazing but this is my favourite. Another staple since the early parties !! What a bass line with a nice little surprise when the vocal comes in.
