Sutja’s Metaphysical Circus #19

Music

being replaced
by another subject
all your wisdom
and sympathy
can be destroyed
with a simple movement
(bad dreams)
wake up!
you'll find someone new
4 months of mourning
you’ve got to go through
love comes without warning
please, please
don’t make my life hell
and remember our well meaning lies
permanent disgrace

she gave me the blues
she gave me the flames
and realized
she was playing
the same old games

Nys' Love By Country Joe Mcdonald

Taken from the soundtrack of the film Quiet Days In Clichy (based on Henry Miller’s novel). I remember very clearly the scene where this song appeared… The Soundtrack features songs from Country Joe, Young Flowers, Ben Webster, etc.

  • Affinity - United States Of Mind

A very Jazz influenced band as you might guess. The name of this English band came from Oscar Peterson’s album “Affinity”. The vocals of Linda Hoyle in this song are exquisitely beautiful.

  • Travel Agency - That's Good

I almost liked every song from this Travel Agency album. The San Francisco band was formed by Francesco Lupica (also known as Frank), Mike Aydelotte and Steve Haehl. Francesco also did sound effects for the Star Trek’s
    original motion picture soundtrack (1979).

  • When Everybody's Going To Die By J.A. Seazer

What can I say… Takaaki Terahara also known as J.A. Seazer is one of my favourite artists alongside Shuji Terayama. In the early seventies they worked together on several projects such asTenjo Sajiki, Shuji’s film soundtracks, etc. To me, he’s a damn genius.

  • A Las Cinco De La Tarde By The Savage Rose

Holy Savage Rose. I discovered this Danish band some time ago and when I first heard Annisette Koppel’s voice was on this video of her singing [“The Shoeshine Boy Is Dead”] on a festival… I immediately fell in love with her.

  • The Best Of It By Thorinshield

Argh, those lyrics… Thorinshield was formed in 1968 by guitarist James Smith, drummer Terry Hand (from Everpresent Fullness), and bassist Bobby Ray (session musician on Donovan’s Sunshine Superman album). The band broke up after the release of the album.
