If there were a list of catalysts, it would be longer than his arm — so much had changed since they first met all those years ago. Did he blame her? He wasn't sure. But he definitely felt shortchanged, he'd been promised something and been given nothing: now it all seemed like wasted time...
The next release on Munich's Compost Disco sees Barcelona-based producers Velmondo and Priorat joining forces with Chicken Lips singer Jonny Spencer. Made up of two tracks, which get the rework treatment from Marc Piñol and In Flagranti, the EP is a heady melange of murky, hypnotic rhythms that chug along thanks to Spencer's commanding vocals. Both originals, one of which was a favourite of Weatherall and played on his last NTS radio show, are full of dark twists and turns over their near ten-minute durations.
