This Week… Angry Badger, Disgraceful Windrush And Radar Radio

This Week… we'll start with a message from our sponsor.

If only the world was listening like our office does every Friday (for as long as we can handle).

Noel is positively cackling in his radio bunker with the news that Lloyds are due to close 49 Lloyds branches (that's 1,230 jobs down the swanny). Due to our close ties with Noel we can reveal — though we shouldn't — the new talk show to the Positively Noel radio brand station called Postively Redundant & Unemployed. 1,230 people all given their turn to say whatever they like about Lloyds, their current situation after being let go, and a positive thought for the day if they can muster it.

Noel, we love you.

Taking us back down to earth with a bang this week is the Windrush debacle. It is utterly disgraceful.

The man who came here as a child, yet was told to leave immediately, after sixty years in Britain. The elderly woman, a former chef from the House of Commons restaurant, sent to a detention centre and threatened with deportation to Jamaica, a country she hasn’t seen since she was ten.

The elderly man thrown out of his council home, and refused cancer treatment.

How does this happen in 2018? (Theresa May has) "demonstrated that you don’t have to use chemical weapons to show inhumanity to fellow human beings. She once famously gave a speech saying that many people in the UK saw the Conservative Party as the “nasty party”. She seems determined to prove it so."

In other news, Radar Radio ceased broadcasting this week. It's unclear if they will return – the allegations made reflect a toxic culture that practically all DJs and hosts responded to by jumping ship on Monday. Who would have thought that a business owned by an Ashley would turn out so toxic?

In more other news…

Historic Environment Scotland (HES) told visitors about the unusual resident in a tweet, saying: “We’re trying to entice it out with cat food & send it home to #chilloot.”

RIP Dale Winton m8.

SICK NOTE

In this ever demanding online world where content is king, I've been desperately trying to figure out what type of content you people love the most. Having thought long and hard I've guessed that it's probably about health. Am I wrong, right?

Our first question to Sick Note comes from Scott.

Scott: "Are painkillers the reason why I'm now gay?"

Hmm…

Dr Note: No, Scott. No they aren't.

This man is being dubbed Dean Partridge after a series of tweets diarising his week, catching the attention of news and opinion website Prolific North.

Right, that's about it. The weekend is upon us and the weather is fine.

We've got a rip roaring record store day special down at the Ransom Note Record Shop (including beer, bbq and record deals. Mega!) which I for one think you should go to.

It's the fucking marathon too, so fuck heading traveling into central with a load of people going to watch other people run around blockaded London streets. R U MAD?

Do you even buy records? Why are you heading to Phonica then? Shut up m8!

Beer? Nice 1. x
