Premiere: Kawuku Sound – Owino Market
There was much to see and much to do beneath the covered streets, the tarpaulin which hung from atop the towering buildings cast a shadow down upon the densely packed close. This was Owino market and the price was right for whatever and whichever wonder you chose to buy upon that fine day. The air was close and the tiny alleyways packed with the hustle and bustle of people moving between market stalls – the heat was stale under the tightly packed coveralls and inside was all the trinkets and treats you might ever desire.
Kawuku Sound is the collaborative project of two electronic producers Contours and Cervo who have worked alongside Ugandan percussion troupe Fonkodelis Arkestra. They have release a six track EP with a blend of influences. Listen below:
