As they held hands and gazed across the snowy wastes that lay ahead, they were struck as one by a sharp pang of bittersweet nostalgia. This was the place where, as research scientists working at the very limits of polar exploration, they had once made a name for themselves. Part of a group whose fierce sense of camaraderie was forged by the brutal elements, they found a sense of belonging that they had never previously experienced. Sadly, the dangerous nature of the job meant that not all of them made it back, and now decades later, it was their fallen comrade who they remembered as an albatross soared across the setting sun.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds return with the third single to be taken from their #1 album Who Built the Moon? Out tomorrow on 12" and limited edition picture disc, 'She Taught Me How To Fly' comes backed by a remix from the one and only Justin Robertson under his Deadstock 33s banner! A glorious throwback to the halcyon days when rave and rock were not so separate, as Noel's voice floats over Justin's elegiac synth melodies. Listen below:

She Taught Me How To Fly is out 25th May via Sour Mash Records. Order the 12" here.
