Chest pulsing quickly, she inhaled in short bursts, trying to regulate her breathing. Anxiety was slowly creeping in but she tried her best to keep it at bay, focusing her attention on a spot on the ceiling. The temperature was obscene, unbearable almost; the open window offering very little respite. After a while she began to succumb to the reality that she would be twisting and turning all night long, sleep was off the menu.
Stepping up for the next release on Barcelona-based Playground Records comes from Ukrainian artist ID_UA, a two-tracker backed up by two hypnotic remixes. Sticky, ritualistic rhythms are present from the off, joined by sharp synths, acid touches and powerful basslines, while our pick, a remix from Disco Halal and Inside Out producer Kincaid, brings sparse tripped-out drums and modulated vocal snippets.
