"Out with the old and in with the new" - that's what they always say. But it's never that easy in practice. The transition is always strange: it's a period of change, sometimes of destruction, definitely of adjustment. Having been immersed in music culture from a young age, becoming hooked on collecting records as well as training as a sound engineer, Italian DJ and producer David Agrella is now taking things up a notch with the launch of his new label, Agrellomatica Records. Named after his monthly radio show on Bloop, the imprint will be a space for his musical inspirations which bridge many different strains of electronic music. For his first outing he offers up a four tracker, 'Transition', which melds together fluid drum patterns, rubbery synth lines, soaring pads and dreamy electro grooves.
