Premiere: Gordon Lightfoot – Linda (Nathan Micay’s Trance Pluckathon Remix)

We're massive fans of Bwana here at R$N Towers. Trust us, it's difficult to understate that. So when we heard that the Toronto-born producer (real name Nathan Micay) was starting a new vinyl-only label called Schvitz Edits, we leapt at the chance to premiere his take on another Canadian hero – folk singer Gordon Lightfoot, whose 1966 song 'Oh, Linda' provides the basis for Micay's absurdly titled 'Trance Pluckathon Remix'. Somehow, against all the odds, this heartbroken ballad's reincarnation as a slow burn early '90s trance anthem makes perfect sense.

Out 9th February, the first release on Schvitz Edits is also home to Micay's edit of Dr. John's 'I Walk On Guilded Splinters'. There will be two further 12"s arriving later this year – each of them focused on bringing classic non-dance music songs into a dancefloor context.
