Influences: Alexander Robotnick

Legacy, not the sort of term thrown around lightly. However, in this case we are prepared to pay homage…
Alexander Robotnick has been a pioneer of forward thinking dance, disco and electronic music for some forty odd years, his music is unrivalled and remains as important and powerful on the dancefloor now as it did back in the clubs and charts back then. "Problèmes d'amour" remains a triumph of a record, one which has not left the bags of disc jockeys since it was first released back in 1983.
In more recent times he has continued to produce music under the guise, taking up dj'ing as an aside, a feat he had not previously considered before 2003. His music has been released by the likes of Creme Organization, Endless Flight, Materiali Sonori and many, many more.
His own tastes are far reaching and eclectic, perhaps to be expected of someone who was so ahead of the curve decades before his counterparts. We are delighted to invite Maurizio Dami to select his influences under the moniker of the one and only Alexander Robotnick…

It’s a beautiful memory from my childhood. Back home from the movie-theatre, my father sat at the piano and played the chords of the film soundtrack and my mother sang along in her lovely voice.
