8 Tracks: Of Formative Roots with Kid Koala

There are few who can attest as much right to hip hop royalty as Kid Koala, a singular producer, disc jockey and scratch turntablist who has set the bar very high for his quality approach to electronic music, beats and sampling. Drawing upon a wide range of influences he has amassed a fierce reputation for innovation and style. Across a number of years he has released music with the likes of Ninja Tune, Arts & Crafts, 75 Ark, Mondo and many more. He has produced film scores and has worked alongside a number of fantastic musicians, the latest of which comes in the form of a collaboration with Trixie Whitley, an American multi instrumentalist. The album is titled "Music To Draw To: Io" and features a number of beautiful electronic experiments taking influence from the blues on which the singer was raised.
Kid Koala has a wealth of musical knowledge and it is always a delight to dig deep through his own musical outlook. He picks tracks by Peter Jackson, De La Soul, Billie Holiday and more…

The album “It’s a Wonderful Life” is one of my favorite of all time. It’s full of beautiful melodies, textures, and subtle sonics that continue to reveal themselves with each listen. Perfect for long travel days or just relaxing and drawing at home.
