The Bug

Music

“For me, dub is almost like a philosophy.” Kevin Martin

“Sound is the ultimate stealth weaponry, infiltrating our bodies at a physically indefensible level, a molecular level. Bass in particular has captured imaginations as an arsenal with which to confront complacency, to overturn the status quo, as an unstoppable force for change.” Vague Terrain

People, we’re super hyped to announce that Bloc have just confirmed The Bug to play live in their room in May. We can’t tell you how excited we are by this prospect… not sure the speakers are going to be too pleased about it tho! Good job we’ll have the incredible Funktion One so you can hear all those bass frequencies crisp and clear!

Kevin Martin is one of musics true extremists. Whether it is during his early days with thrashing jazzcore outfit God, his time with 90s industrial hip-hop troupe Techno Animal or through his violent ragga-fired solo output as The Bug, the maverick talent has always pushed the sonic experience to its furthest limits following the fire in his heart rather than the transient fads that go on around him.

Read Bloc’s great interview with him for his show as King Midas Sound at last weekend’s 5th Bloc Birthday here for an insight.
