Sónar Announce Debut Festivals In Hong Kong And Istanbul

Sónar has released the names of the first wave of artists who'll be gracing the stage at their inaugaral festivals in Hong Kong and Istanbul.

The debut in Hong Kong kicks off April 1st at Hong Kong's Science Park and will see performances from DJ Shadow, Nosaj Thing, Evian Christ, Gilles Peterson, and Ellen Allien as well as a whole host of top Chinese artists including; Fragrant Harbour & Ouissam, Ocean Lam, and Choi Sai Ho.

Aside from the perfomances, the Hong Kong edition will also see the Sónar+D- the International Congress for Digital Culture and Creative Technologies- descend upon the city and will provide festival goers with the opportunity to attend talks and workshops as well as immersive installations and audiovisual performances.

Sónar Istanbul will take place on 24th and 25th March and will welcome the likes of Róisín Murphy, Nina Kraviz, Floating Points, and Prins Thomas. It will take place in the Zorlu Peforming Arts Centre, an arts space widely considered to have some of the best acoustics in the world.

The festival will also be heading back to Reykjavik, Iceland for its fifth year from 16th-18th February. 56 shows will take place across four stages, housed inside the city's Harpa Concert Hall.
