Techno Meets Politics With Track From Valesuchi & Matias Aguayo
It hasn't taken long for someone to produce a track that shows their stance on the current political climate, providing us with a commentary on the situation.
Chilean-born producer Matias Aguayo deftly weaves the now famous speech from actress Ashley Judd at the Washington DC leg of the recent women's march. Aguayo tells us that he wanted to use "a [rhythm] produced by a woman" and enlisted fellow Chilean Valentina Montalvo, AKA Valesuchi, on beat duty.
Judd impassionately recited a poem by teenager Nina Donovan "I am a Nasty Woman" to the throngs of anti-Trump protestors.
The track is a driving 10 minute techno number, flecked with high hats and a driving tribal beat. An anthem that wouldn't appear out of place on an anti-establishment march or in the depths of a darkened club.
