Deena Abdelwahed, E-Saggila and Slikback feature on Houndstooth compilation

London-based label Houndstooth are set to release Alterity, a compilation of warped, experimental and deconstructed club music.

Bringing together artists from almost every continent in the world, the release communicates how shared sounds and ideas can connect seemingly disparate scenes and cultures. Like its name suggests, the release seeks to push the idea of “radical otherness” and outsider culture, embracing its vitality for creating, maintaining and enriching society. 

The 15 track release features contributions from the likes of Fever Ray collaborator Deena Abdelwahed, SVBKVLT producer Slikback, poet and Diskwoman affiliate Odete, Amnesia Scanner collaborator LYZZA and Toronto-based noise disrupter and experimenter E-Saggila.

The release moves through amorphous techno, industrial beats and glistening hyper-stylised trance, with each adopting local sounds whilst adapting global musical styles to create a singular, holistic map of modern dancefloors: championing their diversity and inclusivity.
