Lithuanian platform and community Antidote have shared another episode in their live stream series, capturing local DJs playing at historic and architectural locations around the country.
This edition sees Less Feeling, the moniker of DJ and Lizdas resident Šarūnas Šimaitis Lsar, playing a breakbeat and acid-driven set on the rooftop of a former radio factory, right next to Kaunas’ most recognizable modernist monument - the Christ’s Resurrection Basilica.
This episode aims to show the cultural and artistic development in the former Lithuanian capital, which boasts a small-but-dedicated underground scene, against a backdrop that symbolically links the different epochs of the city, the historic and the contemporary.
Mindaugas Vanagas, the founder of CITUS and mind behind Radio City said: “We are very glad that Antidote chose the former radio factory as the symbol of Kaunas’ resurrection and the place for its performance. The resurrection of Žaliakalnis region is extremely important to the city, as it remains to be the center of attraction with a number of subcultures that have originated here. Music always brings people together, so I believe that the message of Kaunas revival will sound strongly from the roof of Radio City.”
