a brief history of dance mania
On the back of the excellent ‘Hardcore Traxx‘ Dance Mania compilation, Strut Records have released a short video featuring interviews with Parris Mitchell, Duane Buford and Ray Barney – talking about the birth of the label and the history around it.
Our very own Thunderizer Miles Simpson had a hand in putting together the compilation, so we here at R$N shimmer with a particular feeling of familial pride.
As a footnote, one of the funniest things about the video is people complaining in the Youtube comments about the bad audio quality of the voice recordings – it’s Dance Mania, for christ’s sake, it’s raw!
Watch the video below, Hardcore Traxx: Dance Mania Records: 1986 -1997 is out today, February 10th, in all good record stores.
