Playlist: Music To Cut Hair To With Kat Richmond

Music

Like all the best girls I know…they are always late arriving at the party and are last to leave.. normally that just means onto the after party.

So finally here she is..Kat Richmond with her 'Music to Cut Hair to playlist’. When I say finally, after a crazy start to the year which left Kat in hospital for a month, I’m so pleased to see she has bounced back to health.

Us girls are made of strong stuff..

I met Kat when she was invited to play for us (my other life) and we struck up a lovely friendship. Kat is Electronic 17, and is based in Walthamstow. The new borough of culture. She works on the Stow Festival and the Walthamstow Garden Party. Her next production will be Buntu, April 14th at Sedition, City Rd EC, presenting MoBlack.

When were you at your happiest?

Looking out over one of the valleys on Easter Island at the Moai statues a couple of years ago. Spectacular! An amazing day… It puts your whole existence in this world into perspective.

What’s your greatest fear?

I’m not a huge fan of spiders.

Who do you admire?

My mum… She’s the strongest and bravest person I know.

What trait do you deplore in yourself/ other people?

Selfishness.

What’s your worst habit?

Taking on too much.

Favourite word?

I say ‘amazing’ a lot! In a Hull accent, too! Lol…

Who would you like to say sorry to?

Anyone who thinks I’ve done them wrong.

Who do you despise?

No one. Too much wasted energy!

Who or what is the love of your life?

Aw, that would be telling! All you need to know is that I’m very happy… 😉

What would improve your life?

A better body! Been really poorly recently and everything hurts!

What’s your greatest achievement?

I’m really proud of the two festivals I work on: The Stow Festival and the Walthamstow Garden Party. Both projects keep getting bigger and better each year and it’s great to see people really enjoy the music!

What keeps you awake at night?

At the moment, it’s the trapped nerve in my neck!

How would you like to be remembered?

As a kind person.

What lessons has life taught you?

To make sure my actions never have a negative impact on anyone.

What would your super power be?

Being able to split myself into three. Then I might actually get everything done!

Favourite smell?

Chocolate’s got a great smell! Tastes good too. My flat’s full of it still after being in hospital, lol…

Who would play you in a film?

Oh, goodness, that would never happen! Someone Latina at least!

Tell us a secret?

My friends Faze Action will be headlining the Glittering Plains dance tent at this year’s Walthamstow Garden Party! Really great to have them play for me!
