Artist To Artist – Adra & Vin Sol

It's that time again where we pitch two artists against each other to talk music, obscurities, and in this case taco's. We caught up with Adra and Vin Sol and asked them to challenge each others knowledge, memories and conversational appetite. Adra's latest EP 'The Roswell Incident' was recently released by D.A.T and was accompanied by some fine remix work by Vin Sol. Listen below and read the conversation:

On the DJ / Production front.what can we anticipate from you in 2016?

Vin Sol

More bad choices and club bangers.

Adra

I'm very excited as many are about your new label Club Lonely, what can we expect out of the new imprint? 

Vin Sol

Hot jams from the motherland.. Heat from Jeremy Castillo DJ Primo and others I can't disclose yet and T shirts with cute ass drawings. 

Adra

What brought you to the desire to pop out another label? How will it be set apart from So Wavey?

Vin Sol

Well you misspelled my label as have many before you so that's something but the answer is that these are very different records so they needed a home.

What is the best character of being an entrepreneur? What is the toughest part? 

Vin Sol

I have no clue I'm just a kook who makes and buys records.

Adra

Last but not least, is there a producer out there right now that's blowing your mind?

Besides Moodymann I couldn't tell ya. 

Vin Sol

What is your best excuse for not coming to Club Lonely?

Adra

Yikes, I think the one time I didn’t make it was due to work responsibilities. I lose self-control at your parties. if I have to be out of bed early the next day I must stay back.

If you could have any piece of gear in my studio what would it be ?

Adra

Well, the real 909 of course. My TR8 holds up, however, nothing beats the original. Plus Jeff Mills and the spirit that comes with it would make me feel complete.

Burrito hands down

Vin Sol

You have pet cats, would you consider yourself a cat lady?  

Adra

I don’t believe I’m old enough yet? I just had to look up “cat lady” online. I don’t fit the description so no I don’t consider myself one.

Vin Sol

What do you have planned in terms of production for the rest of the year ?

Adra

This year I will focus on a darker release. For me, I think it will be more promising.Feeling a bit more confident to do a full release of what I personally love to do, that’s definitely darker.
