INFLUENCES: WALTON

Out 6th July via Tectonic, the Manchester producer's new album 'Black Lotus' is influenced by grime, dubstep and traditional eastern music.

Manchester producer Walton - who's previously released on the likes of Keysound and Kaizen - has got a new album out next month on Tectonic. Spoiler alert: it's pretty great. Featuring collaborations with Riko Dan and Wen, Black Lotus is home to a spacious and futuristic mix of grime, dubstep, techno and abstract electronics.

Influenced by his love of sino grime (a term originally popularised by a Kode9 mix from 2005), Walton began listening to traditional Japanese and Chinese music while searching for melodic ideas. Dig further into his Influences playlist below to find out more...

Black Lotus is out 6th July via Tectonic, pre-order it here.

SHOGUN ASSASSIN OST - LEGEND OF THE LONE WOLF

Sick film and a sick soundtrack that had a big influence on how the LP ended up sounding. Love the brass sounds on this one.
