There has been a bubbling sense of anticipation and interest around the Tel Aviv based producer and live act Autarkic. He has crafted a singular sound which blends middle eastern influences alongside elements of krautrock, post punk, house and electronic music all in one very tight knit package. As a result he has been granted access to travel far and wide bringing with him a sound which is very much his own yet continues to ignite dancefloors in an innovative new light. Whilst he largely plays live he has recently entered the realm as a disc jockey and with him brings a spectacular insight into the inspiration which has helped form his own taste and sound within music.
He will play at Renate on the 24th of March in Berlin as the Lithuanian club night Opium takes over the space with a fine showcase of talent including Kris Baha, Christopher Rau and more.

Life According To Agfa
The movie by Assi Dayan describes the fragile Israeli society in a non typical, revealing fashion. Army machoism, racism in terms the whites, the blacks, the arabs and other grotesquely stereotypical characters with personal disorders which mirror the country's disorders. That tough and beautifull movie influenced me a lot and gave me a will to try and bring a hidden message to my work. I sampled a dialogue from the movie in my track "watch out".
