It is with great pleasure and pride that we are pleased to announce our return to the IMC, a football tournament which is focussed on supporting War Child. We will compete alongside a suitable assortment of teams from across the world of independent music in a knockout tournament on Saturday the 27th of July later this year. It will be the third time that we have participated in the event.

This year the IMC is hoping to raise over £10,000 for the charity. More details about the charity can be seen below:

War Child is the only charity dedicated to protecting and speaking up for children affected by war in the worst war conflict-affected places in the world. This year the IMC have chosen to raise money for War Child’s football driven project, War Child FC – an ambitious project which combining football with psychosocial support to help equip children and young people with skills needed to rebuild their futures.

War Child FC is a global initiative which aims to introduce football-based projects in Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic and Iraq, Jordan and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Lejla, War Child Youth Advocate and Team Captain for War Child FC’s team at the Independent Music Cup described the upcoming tournament as follows:

“It’s brilliant to see the positive power of football being harnessed for good, not only in War Child’s programmes to help build resilience and overcome the experiences of war, but also with the War Child team playing as War Child FC at the Independent Music Cup”

This year includes teams from Young Turks, Resident Advisor, NTS Radio, Pioneer, The Royal Albert Hall, PRS, Domino and more. The tournament is founded by Ninja Tune.
