Competition: Win Tickets To See ‘Generation Revolution’ Black Activism Documentary

Art & Culture

Following its world premiere at Sheffield Doc Fest 'Generation Revolution' is opening at selected cinemas in November. The powerful documentary follows London's new generation of black and brown activists, narrating a UK slant on the global #BlackLivesMatter story. Directed by first-time filmmakers Usayd Younis and Cassie Quarless, it follows two activist groups in London through political awakenings and disillusionment. The 'Black Revs' prefer raucous, direct action including sabotaging anti-homeless spikes and organising a die-in at the Westfield shopping centre. 'R Movement' challenge the idea of the serious political activist, turning online social media debate into political action, with a dose of good humour. The film opens it's run with a special preview screening followed by a Q&A panel discussion on 9th November at Picturehouse Central.
