Doom Mask Subject Of New Animated Music Video
Director Kris Merc has joined forces with animation studio Aardman Nathan Love for the video for the single Super Hero by the collaborative project from Kool Keith and MF Doom.
The video is set to feature the famous MF Doom mask as a ceterpiece for a range of vivid and detailed sets interspersed with a variety of animations.
"I wanted to create something that felt like a visual pop traversty… I wanted it to visually speak to the legacy of the artists, and Afrofuturism mixed with comic book concepts. I'm a fan of the unseen, and I was obsessed with the idea of using Doom's mask and the iconography as a centralised point – as if time and space converged around these strange, sometimes magical tableaus and we were witnessing an ascension."
