Channel 4 has revealed a new, two-part documentary series on the birth of house music.

'I Was There When House Took Over The World' explores how the death of disco made way for the explosion of the underground queer movement that eventually produced the house phenomenom.

The documentary talks to disco legend Nile Rodgers and is directed by Jake Sumner who produced 'Fantastic Man', 'The Plastic Age' and 'Tracks' and also features interviews with house pioneers from that era including Marshall Jefferson and Jesse Saunders.

'House Was Born' and 'House Went Global' are available to stream via the Channel 4 website.
