This week marks the return of C2C festival – a multi disciplinary arts and music festival which focusses on progressive electronic music and the cultural touchpoints which circumnavigate the community.

It will celebrate twenty years in Turin commencing on the 3rd of November and will play host to some of the most innovative and exciting artists from across a breadth of sounds, styles, genres and creative niches.

Self described as a “most adventurous evolution of the avant—pop music scene” the festival will be an ambitious statement of forward thinking talent and ideas.

The programme is stacked and will run across four days and nights at numerous locations in the Italian city. High profile performances from the likes of Bicep, Jeff Mills, Caribou, Autechre and Arca will attract wide attention.

However, we were keen to shine a spotlight on some of the other musicians and artists we are delighted to see performing at the upcoming edition…

Dj Plead

Percussive lead club excursions from a rising innovator. Dj Plead’s Lebanese heritage has helped guide his unique approach to drum programming, drawing upon patterns and polyrhythms which make sense only with a complex understanding of time and signatures. His sets are far reaching, with a Middle Eastern influence which somehow works alongside the leftfield club experiments which emerged from Bristol.

  • Makaya McCraven

Having just released a new album on XL, Makaya is on top of the world. An album that was seven years in the making and showcases a unique approach to Jazz, blurring the lines between Broken Beats, Hip Hop and beyond. “In These Times” is a record of immaculate precision, care and time. An artist without compromise, the performance will follow suit.

  • Deena Abdelwahed

Tunisian Producer and DJ Deena Abdelwahed is an artist who has risen to prominence off the back of a number explosive DJ sets which challenge the preconceptions and constructs of bass and techno music. Wild, heavy hitting and fluid – they pull from a number of lineages and strands – her roots, rave culture, protest music and beyond.

  • Two Shell

The mystery continues… Who are the enigmatic duo? Will they be the ‘real’ Two Shell? Are Two Shell ‘real’? Will it bang and go off on the dancefloor? Almost certainly.

  • Blackhaine

Poetry meets art meets performance. Hard hitting truths from the North tell the story of a self destructive prophecy amidst abject poverty. Dark, ominous and brutal at times it’s captivating stuff.
