Eska Coming To Koko In March

Having grown up in Lewisham and spent a decade working as a session singer for artists such as Grace Jones, Tony Allen and Matthew Herbert, Eska's self-titled debut album came out this year and was deservedly nominated for the Mercury Prize.
Eska recently sold out Islington Assembly Hall, and now announces a headline show at Koko in March. Her gigs have been getting rave reviews, with critics praising her ability to remain untethered by genre constrictions.
Her sound is a mix of psychedelic soul, jazz, electronica, folk and West African rhythms, and she's been compared to the likes of Erykah Badu, Bjork and Kate Bush. Gilles Peterson is a big fan, and you should be too. Watch the video for 'Shades Of Blue' below:
Eska is @ Koko on 31 March. Tickets available here from 10am, Tues 15 Dec.
