Convenanza 2017 Announces Line-Ups And New Venue By The Sea

Art & Culture

Convenanza, the festival programmed and directed by Andrew Weatherall and Bernie Fabre is set for its fifth event in September, and this year takes place at The Theatre of The Sea, in the Mediterranean city of Sète. Weatherall will open each night with one of his 'Music's Not For Everyone' sessions, before a selection of curated DJs and acts on each night. After releases on Optimo and SC&P, Glasgow's Junto Club will be performing a live set at the festival, as will Tel Aviv's Autarkic, whose debut LP 'I Love You Go Away' is released on Disco Halal. More Optimo flavours come from Glasgow duo Happy Meals, with their synth-pop, Hacienda Casio vibes. Höga Nord Rekords are represented by Fontan, who as well as their own debut LP later this year will also be releasing a limited edition Convenanza 12" available at the festival. It features remixes from The Guv, Vox Low, Red Axes and more. As usual, there will be the heady narco-disco and acid house of 'A Love From Outer Space' with Mr. Weatherall and Mr. Johnston, and a B2B set from Weatherall and the returning Turkish whirlwind Baris K.
