Amy Lamé has been appointed by Mayor Sadiq Khan as the first Night Czar it was announced this morning. Best known as a BBC Radio broadcaster, she has also been running the LGBT club night 'Duckie' for nearly twenty years. With personal experience of working in threatened venues such as Royal Vauxhall Tavern, most will hope that she gets involved in fabric's upcoming appeal case. Speaking about her new role, Lamé said: “It’s a privilege to be London’s very first Night Czar. I can’t wait to hit the streets and have loads of ideas of what I can do for revellers, night-time workers, businesses and stakeholders. Nightlife in London is my life."
