Ibliss - Drops

Sensual energy! Holy cow. This progressive-kraut piece was made back in 1972 by the band Ibliss (Germany). A band founded by some former members of Kraftwerk in 1971.

  • Deux Pingouins - Le Chien

Taken from an interesting compilation called “Pas de Deux” which mainly contains music made by bands in which the members were a couple. Released by the defunct Spanish label Auxilio de Cientos in 1985.

  • Mythos - Terra Incognita

What a sublime trip! This is a band from Berlin that had many different members during their active years. I discovered this from Daniele Baldelli, he plays this one at 45rpm – Fast as a whip!

  • Various Artists (Francia, 1975) - Philopsis

Here’s a sublime piece by two magnificent musicians. I’ve been such a big fan of Jacky’s work for a long time, this one is taken from a beautiful compilation called “Philopsis”, which also includes songs from Francis Personne, Serge D’usson and Yan d’Ys.

  • Afterglow - Susie's Gone

Can’t get enought of this record, I know i’ve played other songs in previous mixes, but hey… they played several shows (usually at a local pizza parlor) before they formed the full band and recorded the album back in 1967. Isn’t it good?

  • Elephant's Memory - Old Man Willow (1969)

When I listen to this song.. the holy angel, Trish Keenan (singer of Broadcast) inmediately comes to my mind. Elephant’s Memory was better known as the backing band of John & Yoko Ono, the full band name was Plastic Ono Elephant’s Memory Band (1972-1976).

  • Ill Wind - People Of The Night (Alternate Take) (1968)

This band was formed by Ken Frankel and Carey Mann.. They initially started as The Prophets (because both had long beards) – “However, we had no jobs, and a name that didn’t work” and after they changed their name to Ill wind, which was also the name of a Ken’s song.

  • 05.Kourosh Yaghmaei - Leila (Leila)

I remember reading this headline in 2016, “After 27 years of censorship, the Iranian rock pioneer Kourosh Yaghmaei has released the album he was forbidden from making.” This song is an authentic masterpiece, I’m happy that we can finally enjoy his music.
