Swindle Announces New 3 Part Ep Of Funk And Latin Mutations

Music

Swindle has long been a different sort of grime producer. From his early self released mixtapes, through to his work with labels including Planet Mu, Deep Medi, Brownswood and Butterz, he has laced his bass and snares with layered musicality, coming up with a signature sound that's as hard and jazzy as Herbie Hancock working with the Newham Generals.

He's now announced a new three part EP of tracks made whilst travelling the globe, taking in Brazil, LA and London. He's kicking things off with the Connecta EP, featuring three tracks recorded in three days whilst touring Brazil. As you'd expect, Latin rhythms come to the fore, with jazzy guitar licks and big horn stabs giving way to minimal percussive bangers. You can check out some snippets in the trailer video below, and keep on top of the project over on Swindle's bandcamp page.
