Music

Ondatrópica are set to drop new album, Baile Bucanero on March 10th. The single Bogotá is set for release on March 17th and is a tropical number that has a definitive Caribbean influence.

Orginally written in the early 70s by Michi Sarmiento, but never released, the duos latest album is the perfect outlet for his work.

The pair recorded the album in the two contrasting locations of Bogotá and the Old Providence Island. Bogotá with its underground, punky, DIY mentality and Providence with its rich and mixed cultural heritage, and heavy Caribbean flavours.

The album was recorded with a huge range of instruments, from gaita to lap steel, accordian to mandolin, synth and even a horse's jaw bone. A total of 35 local musicians of all ages and walks of life were involved in the recording, which was fuelled by long, rum-soaked sessions.
