R$N Presents: The Noonday Underground Mix With Danielle

Music

The Noonday Underground is a brand new project founded by General Public. Over the coming months Ransom Note is delighted to be able to bring you a series of exclusive mixes recorded from the Thursday afternoon parties which take place at Grow in Hackney. The concept is simple…

"Every Thursday at Grow, Hackney we celebrate music, art, conversation and community. This week Grow is teaming up with General Public, Ransom Note, and The Gaia Gallery to bring you The Noonday Underground, an early evening music and community social where DJ's play for 1 hour (ish) slots. The session will be recorded and released throughout the month on a weekly basis on Ransom Note."

Next up is Danielle…

First record you bought?

This is one of those things I should probably remember but in all honesty I've no idea. I was quite late to buying records as I used to listen to all my dad's instead.

What record never leaves your bag?

Moodymann – 'Black Mahogani', although I probably shouldn't say that considering it's a pricey one on Discogs…

What are you listening to at the moment?

Joshua, Bjorn Torske, Galaxy 2 Galaxy, Omar-S, Larry Heard, Das Ding, Akwassa, stuff like that.

Dream rider?

Allen & Heath Xone:43, ice cold pale ale, and a nice selection of pastries.

A time machine, one record, one place… where and when?

Cloud One – 'Atmosphere Strut' (1976)

Death row meal?

As long as my dad was cooking it wouldn't matter, something involving chicken I reckon.

Where can we find you?

What's next for Danielle?

I've got a couple of mixes coming out for some lovely ladies' radio stations in the next month or two, plus continuing to do Brstl parties and Phonica ones whenever I get given the chance! Got some illustration work in the pipeline which is always nice, my older stuff you can check out here
