Lung Dart: The Wednesday Alternative Mix

Music

Based in London the singular sounds of Lung Dart have resonated with a niche yet heavily engaged audience.

Blending weirdo ambience alongside dusty bass and beyond they have crafted a place for themselves amidst the sprawling, monster of a city. Their music is as much a soundtrack for the dystopian city as it is for individual listening. This is something which translates well beyond their own productions and into their spectacularly crafted mixes, which you are about to discover all for yourself.

We have long since been fans of the duo. It is a pleasure to have them contribute a truly original mix to the alternative series.

Listen below:

we both made a bit at home, then came together at james’ to paste it into one and check levels.

What would be the ideal setting to listen to the mix?

in transit

What would be your dream setting to record a mix: Location/system/format?

2 usb cdjs, a 404 and a mixer with effects would be ideal.

probably the second- khloe anna produced by mobbs, currently unreleased.

What’s your favourite recorded mix of all time?

there's a heatwave mix from about 2009 called 'early warming' that i love so much but i lost the file on an old computer. if anyone has it as an mp3 or wav please send it over to penglems@gmail.com. more recently powder's juno plus mix is one i return to often.

our setup’s the same now as it was then, we don’t really have one.

What were the first and last records you bought?

i think the first cd single i bought was by eternal, the most recent i've bought was the haddon tape on videogamemusic.
