Nebraska – Look What You've Done (Mr Saturday Night)

The London based veteran Nebraska has returned to Mr Saturday Night to drop a lovely EP of warm, sample led house music. I absolutely loved his first outing on the label a year or so back which included this gem. There's such a lovely, effortless feel to his music which is always a breath of fresh air. So I when I saw that Nebraska was working with MrSN again I was obviously very keen to hear the results and it's pure joy. While the vibe is very coherent, he gives us three distinct tempos and feels across the three tracks. The disco groove of “Done My Best” is going to be a big hit and no mistake. TIP!

Stenny – Consume IV (Ilian Tape)

Ilian Tape continue to go from strength to strenght, keeping up their relentless stream of exceptionally high quality techno releases. Here they welcome back long time label friend Stenny for what is one of his strongest releases to date. If there's one thing you can say about Ilian Tape it's that their records are never boring. Here we are treated to thumping, heads down techno, skippy, almost garage-ey rhythms, expansive chords and even a nice rolling breakbeat. Cracking from start to finish. Big up!

Mouth – Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (Emotional Rescue)

Emotional Rescue continue their mission to uncover forgotten and overlooked gems from the past and bring them to a new audience. This time they have the dug into the murky depths of the Bristolian post-punk scene to shine a light on the band Mouth. Pulling together raw, energetic percussion, heavy bass and trumpets, this has a similar feel to the likes of ESG and Liquid Liquid, but still having very much its own sound. It’s great to see this get a reissue and is worth picking up for the title track alone which truly is a venture into the abyss.

Donato Dozzy – The Fab (Spazio Disponible)

Ah man, I love Mr Dozzy. When it comes to dense-yet-playable techno with absolutely pristine sound design then no one can touch this guy. He’s recently launched his own label with his long-time collaborator Neel (together they make up Voices from the Lake) and this is the 2nd release so far. Dozzy blends the dancefloor functionality of “Aurora” and “TechTresor” with the more abstract and minimalistic excursions of “A.Ritmica” and “The Drunken Ghost” making a nicely rounded EP that you should definitely check out.
