Daniel Lopatin has produced the score for a new film created by Josh and Benny Safdie. "Uncut Gems" is a forthcoming feature film which features Adam Sandler, NBA player Kevin Garnett, Lakeith Stanfield, Idina Menzel, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Julia Fox. The film has been met with critical acclaim with Adam Sandler operating in a role which has been deemed out of the ordinary and far removed from his stereotypical comedic pursuits. He plays the role of "Sandler’s Howard Ratner, a charismatic jeweller always on the lookout for the next big score, on a twisted odyssey in pursuit of the windfall of a lifetime."

Daniel Lopatin is better known as Oneohtrix Point Never, a producer who has released abstract, electronic music for the likes of Warp, Editions Mego and his own imprint, Software.

Josh Safdie described his relationship with Daniel in an interview for Variety:

"I was a fan of his music… his albums are very conceptual, and he was making basically scores for movies that didn’t exist. So when we met on Good Time, after he saw the way we were using a lot of Debussey on our film prior to that, he was like, ‘Oh let’s get deep together,’ and we’ve become very close friends."

The soundtrack will be available on Warp Records from the 13th of December.
